Community Spotlight: Vicki Meek

Vicki Meek stands as a highly influential artist in the Dallas region, dedicated to revitalizing key locations to preserve the rich tapestry of Black history. In 2021, she was honored with the prestigious title of Texas Artist of the Year, and ever since, she has consistently showcased her artistic projects in various prestigious venues, including the African American Museum in Dallas and the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston. Through her artwork, Meek aims to delve into the imagery and symbolism derived from Africa, while also striving to enlighten viewers about their historical and social narratives. Her inspirational efforts continue to leave a positive impact on the transformation of Dallas.
